Introduction
Swingback collects what your customers ask for, helps you decide what to build next, and tells them when it ships.
Your customers post ideas and vote on a public portal, or in a widget inside your app. Your team sorts the requests, ranks them by votes and by what the customers behind them are worth, and moves them through their statuses. The roadmap follows, the changelog announces what shipped, and everyone who asked hears about it.
The words we use#
- Workspace: your team's space in Swingback, with its members, boards, portal and settings. One company usually has one.
- Board: a list of posts on one theme, such as "Feature requests" or "Bugs". A board is public, or private on the Pro plan, and may keep its posts off the roadmap.
- Post: one request, with a title, a description, votes, comments and tags.
- Status: where a post stands: Open, Under review, Planned, In progress, Completed or Closed.
- Portal: your workspace's public site, where customers browse boards, post, vote and comment. It lives at your workspace's subdomain, or on your own domain with Pro.
- Widget: the portal inside your own product, in a frame, with your user already signed in.
- Roadmap: the portal's view of posts by status.
- Changelog: your announcements. An entry links the posts it ships, and their voters hear about it.
- Customers: the people who post, vote and comment, also called end users. They can belong to companies, each with a value such as its monthly revenue.
- Team: the people who run the workspace in the dashboard, as owners or admins.
